Dale Earl Stoneburner

Dale Earl Stoneburner, 84, passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2016, at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. He was born June 8, 1931, the son of Archie and Esther (Callahan) Stoneburner.

Dale graduated from Slater High School and served stateside during the Korean War from 1951-1953 when he was honorably discharged. He worked for Firestone for 32 years prior to retiring in 1985.

Dale leaves behind his wife, Mary Lou; his children, Vickie Shante, Steve (Jeannie) Stoneburner, and Danny Stoneburner; grandchildren, Amanda, Alec, Mike, Shawn, Tony, and Jamey; as well as 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Charlotte (Art) Cunningham and sister-in-law, Doris Stoneburner. He was preceded in death by his mother and father; brother, Archie; and sister, Ila.

Dale greatly enjoyed fishing and hunting, and was a huge animal lover.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 6, 2016, at Oralabor Cemetery in Ankeny, Iowa.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Animal Rescue League in Dale’s honor.
