Ivalyn Mae Faris

Ivalyn Mae Faris, 64, of Des Moines, passed away on November 28, 2015.

Ivalyn was born on September 19, 1951 in Newton, Iowa, the daughter of Richard Ivan Faris and Willa Mae (Brown) Faris. She graduated from Newton Community High School in 1969 and went on to graduate from both Grandview College and Drake University. Ivalyn worked at the Iowa Department of Transportation for 30 years as a clerk-typist.

Ivalyn was survived by her mother, Willa Mae (Brown) Faris and sister, Jocelyn Kay Faris.

Ivalyn was preceded in death by her father, Richard Ivan Faris of Seymour, IA; her paternal grandparents, Everett Ivan and Margaret Emaline (Sager) Faris of Seymour, IA and maternal grandparents, John William and Esther Caroline (Grismore) Brown of Seymour, IA.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines, for both Ivalyn Mae and her mother, Willa Mae. Family will greet guests an hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery in Seymour, IA.
