Service Details

Wayne C. Endres, age 85 of Des Moines, died February 4, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at All Saints Catholic Church, 650 NE 52nd Avenue, Des Moines, IA 50313. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Monday, February 8, 2016 at the church with a 7 p.m. Knights of Columbus Prayer Service.
Wayne was born April 7, 1930 to Albert and Irene (Konrad) Endres in rural Milo, Iowa. He attended Milo High School, graduated from the Des Moines Technical High School and attended Iowa State University. Wayne started as a seed analyzer in Indiana and New York. But his true calling was being a wood pattern maker. He apprenticed for Eagle Iron Works, and subsequently became owner/operator of Built Rite Pattern Shop. Some of his accomplishments included his work on the DentalEZ Chair, the “The Iowa-A Place to Grow” roadside statue. Doing business as Triple A Sports Products, Wayne entered into a partnership with former ISU National Champion Carl Adams to produce the ADAM Wrestling Takedown Machine, used by virtually every high school and college wrestling program in the United States.
Wayne is survived by his children: Joy Johnson, Pam (John) Burns, Gayla (Randy) Beers, Linda Castro, and Victoria (Rick) Weir; grandchildren: Kristie Keener, Kara Johnson, Matt Johnson, Kodee Weir, Conner Beers, and Callie Beers; great-grandchildren: Haley Howell, Kayleigh Johnson, Vance Goodrich, and Jamison Johnson; siblings: Clarice Duff, Margaret Brown, Bob (Karen) Endres, Ed Endres, and Gail (Carol) Endres; sister-in-law, Amy Endres; many nieces and nephews; and numerous friends.
Wayne was preceeded in death by his parents; grandson, Damon Patterson; son-in-law, Steve Johnson; siblings: Marie (Dale) Moon, infant Edna Mae Endres, John Endres, and Richard “Dick” Endres; and siblings-in-law: Jean Endres, James Duff and Hank Brown
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Knights of Columbus, Council #10282.
