We were saddened to hear about Junior's passing. We were privileged to know him through our church, Pleasant Hill Church of Christ. He was a very caring, unselfish, and generous man who was always ready to lend a hand. He had a wonderful laugh and smile. We are in Texas and sorry we couldn't attend the service for Junior. We will truly miss this man who was an example for us.

In the early 70's Junior got roped into coaching our basketball team. We were the Bad News Bears of basketball. We had so much fun we ended up being really good. All the years I was on the PD I would get called to a gas leak and of course Junior and his crew would show up. I would always accuse of him of stopping for coffee on the way and he would tell the crew I was always the one responsible for the leak. He meant more to us then he knew. I will remember him always. Rest in peace coach!

So sorry to hear about Junior. I knew Junior for a lot of years while working at Midamerican (aka Iowa Power and Light Co) Energy. A lot of the time was in the middle of the night, cold, rainy or snowy looking for a gas leak. We always laughed about doing what we were doing on a bright sunny day with temps in the 70's. He could change out a gas meter faster than anyone I knew. For a man his size he was very agile and limber on and off the job. He could hit a golf ball a mile and loved playing racquetball and besides that, he was good at it. (Ask Tom Anderson) Remember the past and cherish your memories, I know I will.

I have been a starter for Spencer's NW Iowa Amateur Golf Tournament for over 20 years. Junior always had a warm and friendly smile for his foursome, other golfers and the entire NW Staff. He will be conspicuous by his absence for many years to come at the NW. Condolences to his entire family.

Profound feelings, unspeakable joy and thanksgiving that you were in ours life, Junior. Its going to take all the members of our congregation to pick up the mantle for what you one person - did for the church. You excelled at I Corinthians 15:58.
I will forever cherish your generosity, encouragement and love. You radiated great joy here on earth. I cant imagine what your smile will be like when we congregate again.
May God richly bless your family, the church and all your many friends who deeply loved you with peace and assurance of Gods promises!... I Thessalonians 4:13-18

Many many years ago (early 70's), Jr. was so kind to us when we were in high school. He used to take us riding around in his cool Road Runner car. He was a kind friend. Good memories. Rest in peace Jr.

Oh! AND. Junior had fought his 300# plus. For years. It never was an issue with us friends. It just gave us more to love. Athleticly he was a tank on rollerskates. Golf, racketball, etc. He was better than just good!! R.I.P.

With great sadness, good-bye friend.
I still hold dear the memories of the fun we shared: playing cards after games, holding the football while you practiced kicking, playing golf, and just laughing and conversing.

Worked with Junior for several years. Not only was he a hard worker who cared for his customers and co-workers, he was kind, generous and always willing to sage advice. I learned much from him, as did many others.

My first little league team was on the Cubs at Raccoon Valley. I met Junior, his dad was the coach. We went to the same High School. Through the years I would run into Junior at different places. Always enjoyed talking with him. Never heard him say a bad thing about anyone. Always very positive. To his family he was a good one. God Bless.
