Marcha Louise Cox, 66, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 1, 2015, at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Ft. Davis, Texas.

Marcha was born May 11, 1949 in Lorimer, Iowa to Dillard and Lois (Stein) Paxton. In 1968, Ron Cox became a single parent of four children. Ron and Marcha met on a blind date and later married in 1969. Marcha helped raise Ron’s children as her own and they later had two children of their own. She worked for many years as an insurance consultant for Neodyme in the medical insurance department. After retiring, Marcha helped Ron with his broom-making business.

Marcha used to travel for her work, but really enjoyed life around the house. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Ft. Davis. She treasured time with her children and grandchildren and liked spending time sewing, cooking, and camping.

She is survived by her husband, Ron; children, Christopher (Sheila), Alice (David), Lisa, and Debra; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Melinda and Marchelle; mother, Lois; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her sons, Ronnie and Jeff; sister, Marlene; and father, Dillard.
