Joyce Elaine (Dean) Stanford was born May 23, 1937, in Winterset, Iowa, the daughter of Howard and Hazel (Hines) Dean. She was a member of Avon’s Presidents Club and the Honor Society with Avon. She enjoyed flower arranging, camping, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Joyce passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at Union Park Health Services in Des Moines at the age of 78. She is survived by her children, Debra Stanford, Cynthia Stanford (Brian Banse), and Kevin Stanford (Shawn); siblings, Sheryl Faux, Michael Dean, and Larry Dean; eight grandchildren, Brandon Stanford, Emily Stanford, Steven Stanford, Kim Perez, Will Banse, Jen Banse, Justin Shearer, and Tabetha Berry; and four great-grandchildren, Alexia Stanford, Hannah Rea, Landen Perez, and Payton Perez. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Marion Stanford.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, August 2, 2015, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines. Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 3, at Winterset Cemetery, Winterset, Iowa.
