James H. Lewis, 79, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2015.
James is reunited with his beloved wife, Jean Lewis, who preceded him in death June 28, 2014 after 58 years of marriage. Surviving family include his son, Alan (Deena) Lewis; daughter, Julie (Rich) Judkins; grandchildren, Leah (Adam) Sampson, Kendra (Nick) Covington, Shauna Wolver, Tyler (Sarah) Baker, Matthew Judkins, Alan James Lewis, Jr., and Savanna Flores, great-grandchildren, Kaylie Sampson, Callie Sampson, Lexi Baker, Owen Wolver, Evelynn Covington, Opal Wolver, and Angelina Flores.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Ann Baker; wife, Jean Lewis; sister, Arlene Lewis; brother, Paul Lewis; and his parents.
James was born August 27, 1935 in Des Moines, Iowa to Herbert and Pauline Lewis. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. James enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, and being with his family.
Celebration of Life for James will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, June 14th at the Lewis Residence.

I am one of many of Jim's cousins and,in my youth I lived just down the street from Jim. In later years I would see him at family get to-gethers. I recall, over the years, that Jim was easy to like for his humor and pleasant disposition. He will be missed.
