Herbert A. Moorman

Herbert Alan Moorman, 62, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2015. He was born May 31, 1952 in Waterloo, Iowa. Graveside Service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter, Iowa.

Herbert proudly served his country in the United States Army. He enjoyed the freedom of motorcycles and fixing them up. He had a passion for guns whether it be holding them, firing them or fixing them. He enjoyed listening to a variety of music especially Led Zeppelin. He will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father and grandfather, and treasured every moment spent with his family. The stories he would tell will be missed by his loving family. Herbert never met a person that didn’t become a friend.

He is survived by his loving wife, Velda; children, Jennifer Hutchinson, David Moorman, Dale (Brooke) Austin, Jr., David (Jennifer) Willard, Daniel (Nina) Willard, and Jennifer Logan; grandchildren, Akira Austin, Deja Austin, Jason Austin, Preston Willard, Shelby Foster, Elijah Willard, Samantha Logan, Christian Peacock, Merrissa Peacock, Ava Hutchinson, Camille Hutchinson and Isiaha Hutchinson; mother, Imogene Moorman; and sister, Joyce Schaffers.

Herbert was preceded in death by his father, Archie Moorman; and his three cousins.
