Anthony Paul “A.P.” Johnson, 37, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2015. A.P. was born February 10, 1977 in Des Moines to Ralph Johnson and Mary Hildreth. He was a man who didn’t know how to do anything small; everything was big with A.P. He had a great sense of humor and was very witty. There was never a dull moment when he was around. He was a big practical joker but he would help anyone with anything. He was always tinkering with something and could fix anything; he could put MacGyver to shame. A.P. enjoyed fishing, camping and four-wheeling. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Anthony is survived by his mother, Mary Hildreth-Todd; sister, Rochell Comer; brother, Ronnie Todd; and children, Anthony Johnson Jr., Skylar Johnson, Briannah Johnson and Brenden Johnson. He is also survived by his special aunt, Debbie; his nieces, Salena Comer, Katelyn Comer, Jenna Todd and Erica Todd-Bulger; his furry friend, Cutie Pie; companion, Jennifer; and other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Kate Israel and Georgia Walker; his grandfather, Paul Hildreth; and uncle, Gene Hildreth.

Services will be held Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Family will begin greeting friends at 12:00 p.m. with funeral service to start at 2:30 p.m.
