David Matthew "Matt" Thompson

David Matthew “Matt” Thompson was born August 5, 1977 in Des Moines, Iowa and died December 15, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center, surrounded by his family.

Matt is survived by his wife, Tanya; daughters, Cecelia, Emmaly, Brianna, Arabella and Pam; son, David Jr.; mother, Pam Thompson, all of Des Moines. He is also survived by his brothers, Chris (Arlene) and Tory (April), both of Des Moines, and many other extended family members.

Matt was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, James and Dorthy Wellons; grandparents, Harold and Emma Jean Thompson; and aunt, Pamela "Squirt" Thompson.

Matt was a great man and loving husband and father. He cared greatly for his family and friends. He was the kind of person who would do anything for anyone. He enjoyed WWE and all types of racing. He was proud to be a member of Open Air Racing which was founded by his Uncle Terry "Leadfoot" Thompson. He is loved greatly and will be missed very much.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to help with expenses.
