Lola Mae Meline, 99, was born on October 21, 1915 to Hiram and Georgia (Campbell) Morgan near Avery, Iowa. She died on December 14, 2014, the result of a stroke. Her childhood days were spent around Gowrie, Iowa. At heart she was a farm girl.

She married Bob Meline in 1935, and together they raised five children; Nancy (Bill Beekman), Charles (Judy), Aaron (Jane), Tim (Chriss) and Ruth (Jon Gaskell). As a dedicated mother and homemaker, her early days were devoted to taking care of the family. Later, she spent many days watching grandchildren.

Her interests were varied. She liked to sew, make quilts, and can tomatoes. She enjoyed reading and studying her bible. She played a good game of scrabble, enjoyed going to garage sales, and loved to go fishing and travel.

She is survived by her three sons, 15 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and a few great- great-children; a stepbrother, Jack Chambers; son-in-law, Bill Beekman; a half-brother, Clay Morgan; and a half-sister. Darlene Schatzman. Lola was preceded in death by her husband, parents, stepfather, daughters; son-in-law, Jon Gaskell; two half-sisters, Lucille and Lydia; and a half-brother, Larry.

At the time of her death she resided at Trinity Center in Luther Park. She was genuinely loved by the staff and received compassionate, loving care.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway with visitation one hour prior.
