Aleyna F. Davisson, 70, of DeSoto, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at Sunnybrook Assisted Living in Fairfield, IA surrounded by her family. Aleyna was born on August 5, 1944 in Hampton, IA to Clifford and Winola Prull. She attended K-8 at Sunnyside Country School and graduated from Ackley-Geneva High School in 1962. She then attended and graduated from AIB in Des Moines with an Executive Secretary degree and worked at Equitable of Iowa. She met the love of her life, Larry Davisson, at AIB.

Aleyna and Larry were married on May 15, 1966 at Grace United Methodist Church in Des Moines. They moved to Sacramento, CA, to begin their life together. She worked as the Psychology Department Secretary at Sacramento State College. Upon moving back to Iowa in 1978, Aleyna worked for Chevrolet, Travelers Insurance, and Principal Life Insurance before retiring in June 2012. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing card games and traveling. She especially loved spending time with her 7 grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Erik (Donna) Davisson of San Antonio, TX; daughter, Staci (David) Kraemer of Fairfield, IA; grandchildren, Luke, Derek, Leah, Alyssa, Madison, Lauren, and Makenzie; brothers-in-law, Lyle Abbas, Stanley Burkle, and Bill Davisson; and sisters-in-law, Janice Prull, Elaine Carr, Helen Nicks, and Janice Bannister; along with many cousins, nephews, and nieces. Aleyna was preceded in death by her husband Larry on August 17, 2014; her parents, Clifford and Winola Prull; sisters, Sharon Abbas and Gloria Burkle; and her brother, Dale Prull.

A Celebration of Life for both Aleyna and Larry will be held on Friday, November 21, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. at Grace United Methodist Church in Des Moines with visitation an hour prior to the service. Per her wishes, she has been cremated and her ashes will be buried alongside her husband’s at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter at 2:00 P.M.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Dan Buroker and staff at John Stoddard Cancer Center, the nurses on Powell 3 at IMMC, Unity Point Hospice, Hospice Compassus, Sunnybrook Assisted Living, and the Fairfield Clinic for their wonderful care of Aleyna.
