Donna Rae Gahman, 68, passed away Thursday, October 23, 2014.
Donna was born September 12, 1946 in Davenport, Iowa to Lucille and Cecil Thornburg Sr. She loved to play bingo at the Hope Center. Donna enjoyed shopping, talking on the phone and going to QT for cappuccino. She was a social person who loved everybody.
Donna is survived by her daughter, Rebeca (Richard) Hodge; daughter, Brandy (Dustin) Newlon; five brothers, Cecil Jr., Doug, Duane, Mike, and Frank Thornburg; six grandchildren, Esperanza and Robert Grau Jr., April Valdez, and Hailee, Konner and Derek Newlon; three great-grandchildren, Jessica, Jasmine and Jose Valdez Jr.; and the many members of her Mainstream family.
Services will be held Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm with funeral service at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

I had the privilege to be one of Donna's care givers. she truly was a wonderful person and had such a nice smile. May God be with the family at this sad time.
