Richard "Dick" Johnson

Richard Thomas Johnson, 83, passed away Saturday, August 30, 2014. Services will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines.

Dick was born on January 15, 1931 to Dorathea (Krause) and Walter Johnson in Minneapolis, MN. Dick joined the U.S. Marines and later was living in LaCrosse, WI where he met his bride, Damaris “Marcie” Moulis. The couple lived in various locations as Dick’s career with the airlines and later with the bowling industry kept them moving. He worked for North Central Airlines and in the bowling industry for King Louie in Kansas City, then he and Marcie ran their own in Blue Springs, MO.

Dick is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marcie; daughter, Sheri (Randy) Thompson; grandchildren, Jason, Brandon (Whitney), and Jordan Thompson; great-granddaughter, Ella Thompson. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, John Johnson.
