Frances Poortinga

Frances Poortinga, 93, of Trenton, Missouri, passed away Sunday, July 13, 2014, at Eastview Manor Nursing Home in Trenton, MO.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Carolyn Poortinga of Spickard, MO; three granddaughters, Tammara Engeness and her husband Conrad, Carrie Zwieg and Kevin Kaech, and Cindy Odell and James, all of Stanwood, WA; three grandsons, Carl Jr. “Zeke” and his wife Shaine of Camano Island, WA, Larry Poortinga and Debbie Martin of Stanwood, WA, and Raymond Poortinga and his wife Susie of Trenton, MO; five great-grandchildren, Jaclyn Skovold and her husband Chase of Porterville, CA, Brian Zwieg of Stanwood, WA, Jeri Ann Kinney and her husband Steven of Marysville, WA, Jodi Lundgren and her husband Justin of Bow, WA, and Ryan Poortinga of the United States Navy, Atsugi, Japan; three great-great-grandchildren, Piper Skovold, Brooklyn Kinney, and Wesley M. White; and one sister, Margaret McDonough of Des Moines, IA.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 25, 2014 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines, IA, with visitation from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
