To Denise, daughter of Zorah Mahon. Your dear mom and I were in the first Volunteer class for HCI, in 1978, and on the same team for the first patient we were involved it. She was such a dear lady, and compassionate volunteer, I know you and all her family will miss her terribly. My sincere sympathy to each of you. Doris Brock.

I was so fortunate to have been able to call Maureen a friend. She always had a smile and a laugh in her! She cared deeply about family and friends and would do anything to make you feel special. I know I will miss her beyond measure. My deepest sympathy to her family.

I was lucky enough to work at DMACC for several years with Maureen. She always brought a smile to my face. We used to kid each other about the Bears and Green Bay. The world has lost a sweet soul.

We shared a grandma, (G'ma Dougherty in Indianola). I'm glad I got to see my cousin Renee in 2012, at our family reunion, after 50 years apart. My body's been in California, since I was a child, but my heart has always been in Indianola, where I was born. It was nice reconnecting with all my cousins at our family reunion in 2012. Even though, after all these years, I barely knew her, I could tell that she was a very sweet girl. We had in common a dedication to education and service to the community.
Renee is a direct descendant of Peter Gearhart, a real American Patriot and soldier, Pvt. 4th class, in Gen. George Washington's army in the American Revolutionary War, from 1779 to 1781. Peter and his family moved to Ioway in 1791 when it was still officially "Injun Territory". As such, Renee was eligible for membership in the Daughters of the American Revolution, (D.A.R.).
We will meet again some day at that great family reunion in the sky. May God take care of her now. My prayers are with her closest family members as they deal with her passing and final arrangements.

Aunt Renee was an awesome lady and if you met her you were the lucky one. She would do anything for anybody. I remember when I was little at Christmas time and knowing how I loved her spaghetti she made me some put it in a glass jar and wrapped it up for me to open. Man I thought I was the luckiest kid in the world and that is what I had for dinner that night. Aunt Renee's famous Spaghetti at least famous to me. You will be dearly missed aunt Ree Ree but you are with Grandma and Grandpa and I know you are in good hands. I LOVE YOU, YOU ARE ALWAYS IN MY HEART AND I KNOW YOU WILL BE WITH ME IN JUNE IN SPIRIT WHEN I GET MARRIED. :)
