Susan Campbell, 61, passed away from complication of surgery on April 16, 2014. She was born January 26, 1953, in Des Moines, the daughter of Robert and Alberta Cain.
Susan was a CNA at Blank Children’s Hospital for 22 years and worked for Home Health Care in the years to follow. She enjoyed playing cards, BINGO, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Susan is survived by her son, Erik Campbell (Lindsay Bollard); daughter, April McNeeley (Dennis McNeeley); 5 grandchildren; and her brother, Michael (Suzi) Cain. She was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron; and her parents.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2014, at Smokey D’s BBQ, 5055 NW 2nd Street in Des Moines.

April Sue, I remember when you were born. Sue and I were friends at Harding Jr. High and North High. Your Mom was a really sweet person. I know you all are sad, but remember the happy times and fond memories and your Mom will live on in your hearts forever. Take care and God Bless.

I remember Sue and working on with her during transition of the Blank Childrens Hospital. I in shocked of the news of her death, so I suppose it was also of the family. I will be thinking of you at this time.

I am so sorry to hear of this. Sue and I were best of friends all though out jr high and high school. I spent many nights at her house as a kid and as a adult . She was a kind and loving person and will be missed. My heart goes out to the family .
