Our family will never forget Jean and we will all miss her very much!Jean was a very cherished neighbor and friend of our family for many years as we children all grew up together. Of course there were the chorus adventures and work nights that your Mom and Dad faithfully came over to help with. But what I remember about your precious Mom was her friendship to my Mom. How at Christmas she would always bring something special to our home .Sometimes it would be homemade jams , cookies, hand stitched towels, rugs or beautiful pots of flowers. She always had a smile on her face and joy in her heart as she shared some of these kind gifts with our family. She and our Mom would often trade recipes and just enjoy talking about life and kids . Jean was an amazing gardener too.At various times my husband and I would seek her advice on gardening. When her produce sale sign went up in the summer people would come from all around to buy her amazing tomatoes. She always made sure our family got their fill too. When it came to garage sales Jean was also the expert in this area . She knew how to find a bargain and how to price it for resale. She would spend hours cleaning up items. She was quite the business woman too. One day I went over to look at the things she was putting up for sale and I found her on the garage floor with a rocker tuned upside town. I asked her if she needed help and she said no she was just shaking all the loose coins out of the chair before selling it! Jean had a very caring, loving heart and even in the last few years of her life she continued to reach out to our handicapped parents . She kept watch over them across the street and kept us informed of any concerns she had about them. And as a faithful friend she often visited them when they both went into the health care center. She always knew what would be a blessing to others. One day my relatives and I were cleaning things out of my parents house and up the drive came Jean with cookies and water just at the perfect time. Jean truly showed the quiet gentle love of Jesus to our family even up until the day before our Lord called her home when she came to our own mothers funeral . We will never forget you Jean. Thank you for being such a wonderful friend and neighbor to our Mom and us kids all these years. We will miss you lots ! We love you!
